SpK or Special K alloy steel is one of the cold tool tools.
These tool steels are also named with the standard numbers 1.2080 and X2 10Cr12.
This type of steel is also known as high carbon alloy steels. SpK rebar has a high hardness for cooling with oil or air and has good stability during heat treatment.
It should be noted that SpK alloy steel is sensitive to rapid and irregular heating.
Some applications of Spk alloy steel:
Making cutting blades, chiseling tools, punching and scaling molds and tools with which cold forming is performed.
This steel is also used in the production of rollers for forming and sizing profile production lines, hot and cold tensile molds and deep and bending tensile, cold rolling machines and ceramic and powder forming molds.
Spk alloy steel is known as a high hardness steel and has acceptable abrasion resistance due to its high (Cr) alloy. Heat treatment of Spk steel is usually done at 930 ° C for hardening (Fergute).
By making slight differences in the base elements of the steel and adding elements such as vanadium and tungsten to it, Spk R and Spk NL steels are produced, each of which, in addition to high hardness and wear resistance, have special properties.
Spk R alloy steel is named with the standard number 1.2436 and Spk NL steel with the standard number 1.2379.
In the classification of cold steels, in addition to Special K steels, we can mention another functional steel called amotite steel. Amutit s steel with standard number 1.2510 and having vanadium and tungsten elements, in addition to the properties mentioned in Spk steel, has unique properties. Amutit steel Amutit is known as a winning and abrasion resistant steel.
Applications
Long length parts in machines and vehicles that need high strength, high tensile strength, good flexibility, high resistance to failure are made of this type of steel, such as crankshafts, non-centrifugal axles, toothed components and parts, related shafts Cement industry, car chassis, disc plate.
