Rebar and steel pipes are all made of stainless steel, which are known in Iran as stainless steels.
Stainless steel or stainless steel is used today in most of our living items including spoons, forks, kitchen utensils and in other large industries such as chemical, pharmaceutical, construction and industrial industries.
As most of us have experienced, when iron combines with oxygen in the air, red iron oxide (which is iron rust) is produced. Among the types of steels, there is a type of steel that shows high resistance against this rust and does not suffer from iron oxide in any way.
The English metallurgist Harry Brearley was the first to discover this particular alloy.
In fact, the beginning of this event coincided with the years before the First World War, when the period of arms production was significantly increased in countries that were likely to be involved in the war. Following this pandemic, Harry Breirley began various experiments in the hope of discovering an alloy of steel that would be highly resistant to erosion caused by high temperatures and humidity in weapons. He began to increase the amount of chromium in steel and compare it to standard carbon steels.

The English explorer, after conducting a series of experiments and not getting the desired result, left all the metals in the warehouse of his personal laboratory and left there in despair. Months later, he suddenly discovered that among the metals piled up in the corner of the lab, there was a metal that, despite rusting all the metals, did not rust or oxidize.
After careful testing, Breirley found that the piece was an alloy of steel with 14% chromium. That steel is now known as “stainless steel” or “steel”.

Stainless steel pipe made of 1.4021 or 420 stainless steel, has magnetic properties and is used in parts of pumps, turbines and similar items.
Steel sheets in the market are divided into two general categories: stainless steel and stainless steel. Obviously, these terms are not specialized. For example: Steel (stainless steel) 1.4301, also known as 304, is a non-stainless steel (without magnetic properties).
304 stainless steel is commonly used in the food, medical and laboratory industries. In the case of steel pipes, it can be mentioned that these steels have good welding capability.
316 or 1.4401 stainless steel, in addition to being stainless, also has anti-acid properties.
316L steel and 316Ti steel are similar to 316 stainless steels, and with a slight change in the amount of their alloying elements (such as chromium, nickel and molybdenum), some of their properties change.
Obviously, due to its anti-acid properties, 316 steel is most used in the manufacture of petrochemical equipment and acid tanks.
Applications of steel pipe:
They are used in food industry, medical industry, milk tankers, decoration and beauty, as well as in humid areas and all places that are in direct contact with water.
